Mesmer

Mesmer is a wheel with 48 spokes, each with an LED strip. As these spokes spin around, a computer system updates the LED colors 300 times per second, making use of the instantaneous angle of the wheel, causing a non-rotating image to be displayed (making use of the eye’s persistence-of-vision characteristic). The animated images displayed are chosen to complement pieces of classical music.
