Bloco Alegria is an inclusive and high level samba Bateria and band in Portland, OR. They always are welcoming and teaching new members. Players gradually advance to the performing band as their skills progress. Bloco Alegria produces workshops and learning opportunities with acclaimed samba masters from Brazil. Members also make regular trips to Rio de Janeiro to study and immerse in samba culture.
