Raices de Oregon

Raíces de Oregón is a folklorico dance academy based in Eugene, Oregon that preserves and carries forward the Mexican heritage through traditional folklorico dancing. Since 2019, the Director, Eliborio Limón, has been able to put forth his experience to help keep many youth and families stay culturally connected through the arts.
This project will inform the community that Mexico has much beauty to offer, than what is
stereotypical. Displaying beautiful dances for the community can give understanding and value to
culture. As we know, art provokes thought. We hope with this thinking or new perspective from our Folklorico show, that it will reduce or eliminate the negativity of the Mexican culture displayed to our
communities.
