Luminous Creatures

A set of otherworldly, glowing, acrylic creatures that illuminate with a high-powered UV light. Each has multiple fluorescent colors and shapes.

For this piece, my intent was to use materials which I had not used before in order to get an illuminated effect from objects which didn’t have embedded LEDs. As fluorescent acrylic glows by shining UV light onto it, I wanted to make these pieces glow with a single light. My desire was to design creatures that lived in the imaginary realm between deep sea and deeper space. Luminous Creatures were thus born, one even designed with the use of AI.
