Projection art based on analog sourced, digitally manipulated motion images created by the artist, accompanied by pre-recorded electric cello
Light artist John Hardham has worked as a live-performance projection artist since 1966. Touring in the 1970’s and 1980’s together with Joan Chase as the Heavy Water Lightshow, his shows were performed live in the planetariums of North America and Europe, in addition to touring with rock groups such as the Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead and Santana. Recently returning to the field as the Lightwave Lightshow, using digital tools to enhance analog images, he now performs regionally with acoustic-electric cellist Chrissy Lancaster and the psychedelic funk band Funkship.Chrissy Lancaster is an electro-acoustic cellist and composer. He has composed over 50 full-length works for concert, dance, theater and film but while his formal training has been in the classical genre, his raw personal approach to music combines pop music, technology and innovation. As he plays, Chrissy uses sampling devices and layers the sound of his own cello, playing and altering as he riffs spontaneously, all while playing with a custom pink bow.Chrissy’s dense, multi-layered dynamic music is the perfect accompaniment to John’s fluid, continuously evolving abstract compositions. Viewers may have an almost ecstatic experience while watching and listening. All images and music are created originally by the artists. NO AI used here!
